What is the ORA System?
Cataract & LASIK Specialists at Heritage eye Center utilizes an innovative technology called the ORA (Optiwave Refractive Analysis) System with VerifEye, which continuously monitors the measurements of a patient’s eye during their cataract surgery. This incredibly accurate, real-time display of the patient’s eye provides our doctors with an unprecedented level of valuable information about the eye that allows him to customize each patient’s procedure to give them the best visual outcome.
Prior to having this new technology, surgeons have been unable to assess the quality of vision during the procedure and would have to wait until weeks after the procedure to determine the accuracy of the results. The instantaneous feedback that Heritage Eye Center surgeons gets from the VerifEye has proven to be invaluable for making minor adjustments in the surgical suite that allows him to confidently refine the patient’s lens power for an optimal outcome. This new technology takes our refractive cataract surgery procedure to the next level.
- The ORA analysis can be utilized to optimize any cataract procedure, whether the patient is having Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery or basic cataract surgery, and regardless of the intraocular lens implant that the patient and he have selected.
- The analysis guides him in the correction of the patient’s eye to help ensure optimal outcomes.
- If a patient has astigmatism, the ORA System may also improve the accuracy of their correction to help reduce the chance that the patient will need eyeglasses after their cataract procedure.
